How to stand still while running.

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006

Lately, especially during the past few weeks, time seems to stand still. When viewed as a series of events, there has been so much. When viewed as a span of time, I struggle to understand what all the it was spent on. I wonder if I spend more time planning for the future, or carrying out my goals. I also wonder how much of my time, over the span of the past few years, has been spent waiting for Dreamweaver and Photoshop to finish loading (at least their splash screen is appealing).

To do:

  • Work, work, work
  • Discrete Structures II Final Exam
  • Update two of my websites
  • Start creating two new websites
  • Take GRE Exam
  • Get ready for school that restarts in a couple weeks
  • Stop and smell the roses

Modelling and Simulation Caucus 2006

Sunday, July 16th, 2006

The Congressional Modelling and Simulation Caucus showcases M&S training initiatives of defense environments, medical operations, and intelligence gathering. It provides valuable insight to several congressmen and their staff about its importance. This year, I was fortunate enough to be one of the exhibitors for my company, L3 Communication’s Link Simulation and Training.

Interpretation of Performance

Friday, July 14th, 2006

I suppose sometimes it’s hard to interpret how a professor’s grading will particularly carry out. I’m sure it’s a hard decision for professor to make in attempting to be fair.

I have decided on a fair grading strategy!!! I will use the best quiz and the best exam (Midterm or Final) in determining your course grade. The final exam will weigh more than the midterm (more points), so think about this carefully. This probably means you must give Quiz2 your full effort. And, for some, the final exam will be critical. Everyone must take the final exam!

Does this mean if you’ve had a good grade on a quiz and on the midterm, you have a good final grade no matter what? Or is it really all on the final?
